Recreation

Being centrally located in Idaho’s West Central Mountains, we are a perfect jumping off point to endless, year round recreational opportunities for the entire family.   Nearly 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails provide access to thousands of acres of off-trail riding in northern Valley County, and all a 10 minute drive from our location.  During the summer months, some of these trails, in addition to many more open up into OTV trails providing access to camp grounds and beautiful lakes and rivers to cast your line into and take in the view.

Non-motorized recreation more you speed?  Idaho is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, providing something for every skill level.  From our walking trails here at Tamarack, to advanced, extreme altitude changing trails withing a 30 min drive, taking in the wildlife and beauty of our area is a favorite family pastime; just make sure to remember your camera.

With all that water around, it would be hard to imagine a vacation to our area that did not include some sort of water sport, and we have them all.  Lake Cascade provides the perfect back drop for a day on the lake, and with a surface area of 47 square miles, you will have plenty of space to ski, tube or wake board your heart out.   Want something a bit slower pace?  Kayaking and Stand-up paddle boarding provide the perfect opportunity to find a quiet moment to take it all in.  Is it an adrenaline rush you seek?  Search no farther than an adventure down the North Fork of the Payette River, spending the day whitewater rafting.  And a perfect ending to any day, no matter what kind of adventure you chose, would be a dip in one of the many hot springs in the area.

Needless to say, the opportunities to get outside and enjoy all that this beautiful area has to offer are only limited by your imagination.  For more inspiration on what to do while staying in the area, check out other Summer Activities or Winter Activities.
